As a new writer of imaginative Christian literature, I could greatly use a support team. It's a big deal, because it will give my publishers a sense of the number of people who are interested in what I have to say. My first book broke the top 100, but hasn't climbed any higher because I haven't been able to spread the word enough.
I would need you to share my work on social media, with a sentence or two about why you’re sharing it. Tweet links to my books or articles. Instagram a photo of you reading my book or when you see it at a bookstore or library or another friend reading it. Simple, quick actions make a big difference.
I need you to recommend my books to your local library, children’s school libraries, or local bookstore. This is a surprisingly powerful way to help a writer sell more books and garner more readers.
FOLLOW my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Parler, Gettr, MeWe, and YouTube, or all those other social media platforms I’m not cool enough to know. Those numbers also matter to agents and publishers, and the more followers a writer has, the more the platform is likely to share my work with new people.
LIKE my social media posts. It will take you less than one second, but those little clicks to say you noticed and appreciate what they posted boost my presence on any social media platform, which brings me more readers and potentially buyers.
ORGANIZE A FAN CLUB, BOOK CLUB, or READING at your school or church or home. Invite me to attend and have a cup of coffee with me.
JOIN my launch team and recommend my work personally to your friends and family. Even if you don’t buy my books, learn a bit about them and then tell your people why they might want to read it. My CS Lewis styled children's novel and thriller don't appeal to everyone, but the stories are enthralling. Think of who might like that book and send it to them. Those recommendations are the most powerful way you can help me find new readers and, hopefully, you’re helping a reader find a writer they love, too.
