Christian Love is Love

I encourage a Christian approach toward the LGBTQ+ community that reflects both truth and grace, grounded in biblical principles and Christ’s example. I hold a traditional biblical view of sexuality and marriage, affirming that marriage is designed by God to be between one man and one woman. I believe that sexual relationships outside this context are not aligned with God’s will. However, I would emphasize that this viewpoint does not compromise the inherent value and dignity of every individual, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. The Christian perspective on sexuality, while countercultural, is rooted in love and a commitment to God’s design for human flourishing.

I ALWAYS advocate for approaching the LGBTQ+ community with respect, compassion, and humility. I EMPHASIZE the importance of seeing every individual as made in the image of God, deserving of dignity and respect regardless of their beliefs or lifestyle. I caution Christians to avoid an attitude of superiority, condemnation, or rejection, instead I encourage believers to examine their own hearts and motives, ensuring they are acting out of genuine love and a desire to build bridges, not walls.

Many of my Christian guides frequently stresse the importance of empathy, listening, and understanding, urging Christians to remember that everyone faces unique struggles and deserves grace. While maintaining my views on biblical sexual ethics, I know that the Christian response should not be hateful or hostile, but rather reflective of Christ’s love for all.

I suggest a balance of truth and grace, often referred to as "speaking the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15). A style of dialogue that is respectful, thoughtful, and avoids unnecessary offense. Have reasoned discussions without compromising kindness or respect.

Most Christian leaders that I know emphasize the need for gentleness and clarity, suggesting that Christians should avoid harsh, judgmental language and instead communicate biblical teachings on sexuality with sensitivity. They suggest framing discussions around shared values, such as the human longing for love, identity, and purpose, which can lead to meaningful conversations about faith.

The most important message Christians can share with anyone who will listen, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, is the gospel itself—the message of God’s love, forgiveness, and redemption offered through Jesus Christ. The Christian witness should point people to Christ as the source of ultimate fulfillment and peace, rather than focusing solely on issues of sexual ethics. The goal is not to win an argument but to invite others into a transformative relationship with Christ.

Lastly, pray and recogne that real transformation—whether in belief or lifestyle—ultimately comes through the work of the Holy Spirit. Be patient, trust that God is at work in ways you may not see. Pray for wisdom in conversations and for opportunities to show Christ’s love in a way that is genuine and humble.

Do your best to be rooted in compassion, humility, and respect. While holding to traditional biblical teachings, encourage believers to engage with others in a spirit of grace and love, always prioritizing the message of the gospel and showing empathy for individual experiences and struggles.
